Checks and balances is so that the branches of government don't over power each other,  the preamble states that we have the ability to speak our minds and that we are treated fairly and equally and that no Americans rights are not taken away from them and i don't think that our amendments will not change because they haven't changed in a long time

During the war European colonial countries were sucked dry economically to a point were they were all on the verge of collapsing as countries. After the war they were all in ruins and needed all the funds to rebuild themselves in every aspect. This caused the European colonial countries to grant independence to many of their colonies because they were not able to keep them under control anymore, be it financially or with the military.
