The correct statements are:

- The "One Child Policy" was meant to slow China's population growth;

- Some people were allowed to have more than one child;

- The "One Child Policy" began in 1979;

- The "One Child Policy" was most enforced in urban areas;

The One Child Policy in China started in 1979. The communist party was worried about the large population and its constant growth, so in order to slow down the growth of the population they enforced the One Child Policy. The name of this policy though is misleading, as approximately half of the population was allowed to have more than one child, and the reasons for that were numerous. This policy was the strictest in the urban areas, while in the rural areas it was much less strict. The One Child Policy ended in 2015, when it was voted out and now everyone in the country is allowed to have two children.

13. You budget $100 for parking each month. Each day you use the downtown
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

t = 100 - 5n : rule for amount of money left.

You will have $45 left after using downtown parking 11 times.

Explanation:

The equation for an arithmetic sequence in this case is t = a + dn.

a is the initial value, d is the rate of change, and n is the independent variable.

t is the dependent variable.

In this context, a is the starting budget for parking, d is the amount parking costs each time, n is the number of times you use the parking and t is the amount of money left after each time you use the parking.

Substitute the known values from the problem into the equation.

t = a + dn

t = 100 + (-5)n   <= the rate of change is -5 because it's decreasing

t = 100 - 5n

To find the amount of money left after 11 times using downtown parking, substitute n for 11.

t = 100 - 5n

t = 100 - 5(11)

t = 100 - 55

t = 45

You will have $45 left after 11 times parking downtown.

Which type of vegetation grows in the mediterranean climate?
leonid [27]

Chaparral is the type of vegetation that grows in the Mediterranean climate

The region of the Mediterranean has deciduous vegetation. It is prepared to survive a protracted summer drought. Due to the extensive roots and thick bark of the trees in this area, moisture is retained during the dry summer months. Citrus fruits, in particular, are grown here by short-stemmed, moisture-retentive trees.

Oak, laurel, cork, oleander, beech, and ash are among the most common trees in Europe's Mediterranean region. The most typical tree is an olive. The prominent tree species in the North American Mediterranean region include hemlock, maple, and chestnut. California woodlands are known for its redwood trees. Coniferous evergreen trees are found at the poles and in the highlands. Common varieties include cedar, pine, fir, and cypress.
