The pressure at 21.1°C is 18765torr.

Why?

Since we know the pressures at 21.0°C and 21.2°, if we want to find the pressure at 21.1°C, wee need to use the formula for linear interpolation.

We will need to use the following formula to linear interpolation:

y=\frac{x-x_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}*(y_{2}-y_{1})+y_{1}

Then, we have:

21.0\°C=18650torr\\21.2\°C=18880torr\\21.1\°C=???\\\\x_{1}=21.0\°C,y_{1}=18650torr\°C\\\\x_{2}=21.2\°C,y_{2}=18880torr\\\\x=21.1\°C,y=???

So, interpolating we have:

y=\frac{(21.1\°C-21.0\°C)}{(21.2\°C-21.0\°C)}*(18880torr-18650torr)+18650torr\\\\y=115torr+18650torr=18765torr

Hence, the pressure at 21.1°C is 18765torr.

Which layer of Earth is responsible for the movement of tectonic plates?
vesna_86 [32]
Convection currents in the mantle are what causes the movement of tectonic plates. As the extremely hot molten material from the mantle rises toward the crust, it cools enough to become denser and sink back into the hotter area of the mantle.

Use the unbalanced equation NH3+O2=NO+H2O to find the mole ratio between NO and H2O
Leona [35]

Answer:

For every 4 moles of NO created, 6 moles of H2O are created so the ratio is 4:6

Explanation:

You just need to balance the equation.

NH3 + O2 -> NO + H2O

1. I started with hydrogen; there's 3 on the left and 2 on the right. Multiply them together to find a number they both go into (3×2=6, but in this case 6 hydrogen on each side does not work so I doubled it so there is 12 hydrogen on each side).

This will bring you to this:

4NH3 + O2 -> NO + 6H2O

2. Now get equal amounts of nitrogen on each side. There's 4 nitrogen on the left side, and 1 on the right. Multiply the right by 4. Then you will have this:

4NH3 + O2 -> 4NO + 6H2O

3. Last thing you need to do is have the same amount of oxygen on both sides. On the left you have 2 and on the right you have 10. Get the left to 10 by multiplying it by 5.

Balanced: 4NH3 + 5O2 -> 4NO + 6H2O

In word form, for every reaction between 4 moles of ammonia and 5 moles of oxygen, 4 moles of nitric oxide and 6 moles of water will be created.

I hope this helps!

If a straight-chain hydrocarbon is a gas at room temperature, how many carbon atoms will it have?
Orlov [11]

The fewer the carbon atoms, the closer it is  to being a gas. The only one you have to check out is A which is hexane. You know that gasoline at the pumps has 8 carbons and its a liquid. So B and C are both not gases  because they are above 8.

C6 (hexane) is a liquid at room temperature not a gas.

The answer is D. If there is a gas present, it must be C3
