Why 1807 significant
The members of the Society for the Abolition of the Slave Trade decided to concentrate on a campaign to persuade Parliament to prohibit the trading in slaves, for tactical reasons. They felt they were more likely to succeed, than if they demanded the abolition of slavery itself throughout the empire.

The British Parliament passes the Slavery Abolition Act 1833, ultimately giving slaves in much of the British Empire their freedom (enacted 1834).

Compare and contrast policies towards Indigenous Peoples and African Americans (1870-1930) including government policies and dec
JulsSmile [24]

Answer:

Indigenous Peoples were largely segregated to reservations located in the Western states, with a few in the Eastern states (East of the Mississippi). Local governments often sponsored armed conflicts between European colonists and the Native Americans.

African Americans in the South were subject to repression, voting disenfranchisement, segregation, and even violence. The Jim Crow laws are a test of this. This is why many of them migrated to industrial cities in the North like NYC, Philadelphia, Chicago and Detroit, were they fared better, but still suffered from racism and discrimination.
