Feminists addressed this issue, and they attempted to pass legislation in order to fix this divide. In 1963, the legislation was created. Nevertheless, women continue to earn less than men nowadays. This means that although the legislation addressed the issue, it did not result in real equality. It implies other actions might be needed in order to correct this inequality.
