She expressed it in the following way: <em>"The patriot blood of my father was warm in my veins." </em>She considered that her roles were rough and inappropriate for men and also for women, but that she was blessed with health to do her job.

Yes, she presents a convincing point of view that women were capable of performing wartime roles because that was their input, their way to participate and fulfill their role during the war. As she mentions in part of the excerpt, her father fought in the war, and at least, she could work in the war.
