One of Arachne's character traits is that she boasts about her skills, this determines how the conflict is resolved.  She is a very talented waver and she doesn't recognize that part of her talent comes from Athena.  Athena decides to give her the body of a spider after they engage in a contest and Arachne's weaving depicts the god's mean actions.  Athena is mad at Arachne because she makes fun of the gods and thinks she is better than Athena herself.

Look -  direct your eyes to - points to a vaguer idea of vision. Not so accurate. Example: I was looking (at) the image while praying. "Someone may be looking at an image, but they are thinking elsewhere, for example.

icang [17]

The theme of the story expressed in that action is the submission and lack of freedom of women in marriages in those times.

In Chopin's "<em>The Story of an Hour</em>", Louise Mallard feels free when knowing that her husband passed away because she felt imprisoned being married to him. Given the patriarchal society and the way women were seen in her times, she never could really live the way she wanted and had to submit to him.
