vladimir1956 [14]
Supposing that there is a man or a person standing with a drawn bow and an arrow,he is aiming it at a bull's eye target. The person has a potential energy then. Potential energy is an energy at rest. However, the bow and the arrow too has a potential energy, but when released, it turns out to have the kinetic energy, or energy in motion.

Label the steps of transcription in order, beginning with step one. Free RNA nucleotides pair with the complementary DNA nucleot
leva [86]

Answer:

The correct order would be:

RNA polymerase unzips the DNA molecule.

                                  ↓

Free RNA nucleotides pair with the complementary DNA nucleotides on one strand of DNA.

                                  ↓

The mRNA molecule breaks away as the DNA strands rejoin.

Transcription is the process by which nucleotide sequence of the DNA is decoded in the from the nucleotide sequence of RNA.

It is the first step of gene expression which is catalyzed by DNA dependent-RNA polymerase.

The process of transcription can be divided into three steps:

1. Initiation: RNA polymerase binds to the promoter region of the DNA and forms the transcription bubble with the help of transcription factors.

2. Elongation: RNA polymerase adds RNA nucleotides complementary to the nucleotide sequence of the template strand of DNA.

3. Termination: Once the RNA polymerase reaches the terminator region of the DNA, nascent RNA chain and RNA polymerase fall off with the help of termination factors. The transcription bubble is sealed back by rejoining of the DNA strands.

Match the following descriptions with the correct term or structure Cytoskeleton element that determines the cell diameter and i
prisoha [69]

Answer:

1. Cytoskeleton element that determines the cell diameter and is required for proper cell division - Bacterial cytoskeleton elements FtsZ.

2. Yields a high quantity of polypeptide in a short time interval - Polysome formation.

3. Is duplicated soon in the initial stage of DNA replication - Ori sequence.

4. Attaches the peptidoglycan to the membrane in Gram-negative bacteria - Lipoprotein

5. Cytoskeleton element found only in rod-shaped cells - MreB.

Explanation:

1. Fts Z protein ( Filamenting temperature-sensitive mutant Z) is present in bacteria that are homologous to the tubulin of eukaryotes. This protein plays an important role in the cell division of prokaryotes.

2. Polysome may be defined as the structure that contains single mRNA and multiple ribosomes known as polyribosomes. These polyribosomes increase the production of polypeptide chains.

3. The ori sequence may be defined as the DNA sequence at which the DNA replication initiates. The ori region multiple rapidly for the initiation of teh DNA replication process.

4. The bacterial membrane consists of lipids, proteins, carbohydrates and peptidoglycans. The lipoprotein is the association of lipids with protein that helps in the membrane formation of gram negative bacteria.

5. Mre B is an important cytoskeletal protein present in bacteria especially is rod shaped bacteria. This protein is homologoue to teh actin of eukaryotes.
