Stalin called the civilians to rise against the fascists. When 2 months of heavy fighting in Warsaw occurred, Germans wiped the city out. The Warsaw Ghetto rebelled. The initiative was fueled by Polish nationalists and the Soviet army that approached the cities to liberate the captives.

One of the reasons for the success of Allies in general accounting for the German failure, as German troops were sent to the Western Front. The German s fighting two fronts. were unable to cope with numerous soldiers of the Red Army and the German officials were skeptical about Hitler's stubborn vision. Quickly the tide of the war made possible the Operation Bagration add to the Great Russian Offensive , 1944.
