Whom do the two men seated at the table represent? What does this cartoon suggest about American attitudes toward immigration in
Rama09 [41]

These two men seated at the table represent the Irish , with top hat and vest, and German (smoking pipe and drinking german beer) inmigrants in the 1800s in the US. The cartoon refers to the 1882's Chinese Exclusion Act, which was the first American law preventing the inmigration of an specific ethnic/national group. This can be apreciated in the "New Declaration of indepence" at the back of the cartoon.

The legend in the bottom ("If the Yankee Congress can keep the yellow man out, what is to hinder them from calling us green and keeping us out too?") refers to the raising fear in Irish and German groups of facing the same fate of Chinese inmigrants. This let us know American attitude towards inmigrants who weren't seen as equals and were discrimitated for their origins and skin color.

Which of the following was not a purpose of wartime propaganda?
kirill115 [55]

Answer:

To create public sympathy for wartime opponents.

Explanation:

Wartime propaganda can be defined as ideas, informations, allegations, or facts that are spread deliberately and methodically by a party, so as to demoralize, confuse and further it's cause against the enemy.

This ultimately implies that, wartime propaganda is focused on annihilating the will of an opponent to continue fighting in a war by ensuring that their morale is demoralized and broken down.

Hence, creating public sympathy for wartime opponents was not a purpose of wartime propaganda.

Answer:

True.

The value of the information at different levels in a commercial enterprise must help the concerned people to prepare for future plans; track actual results, compare actual performance with the prepare, and, where possible, taking control measures. Information value is a very delicate term, since information per se has no universal value. Correspondingly, any calculation of the value of information relates to the significance of the decision-making assisted by that information.

Which best describes President Carter’s attempts to free the hostages in Iran?
STALIN [3.7K]

President Carter's attempts to free the hostages were done in good faith and effort, but were hampered by failures in communication, delivery and execution. The plan involved servicemen who were not as well-trained as they could have been and certain weather effects like the "haboob" which was a big dust cloud, doomed the mission. Carter does deserve credit for taking responsibility for the failure however.
