Linda Apple is an amazing oil painter. She has made a few books with her work in them. When she has extra time she likes to work with other art mediums as well.
I play piano, and I honestly think that if you can consistently practice and get a good foundation, you can become a decently good player. If you have a music room or music department in your school, you can ask to borrow their piano and go their in your free time. Or, you can ask your family again or come up with the money itself.
