The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an international military alliance between 29 North American and European Countries.   This treaty was originally signed on April 4, 1949 and the organization implements it.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization constitutes a system of collective defence and mutual defence, aswell, in response to an atack by an external party.

Its headquarters are located in Haren, Brusels, Belgium.
