Both leaders were highly qualified and had a military background that helped them to win many battles against the Union in the Civil War.

Explanation:

The South had much better leadership during the Civil War than the North. General Lee and General Jackson put their trust in an aggressive style of fighting, that aimed at beating the opponent as hard as possible. Each man identified in the other a readiness to take dangers to catch the enemy off guard, and willingness for relentless methods to gain an advantage over the Union.
