Answer: I am a former RN. Too stay hydrated I first drink two large glasses of water in the moring. It's fantastic for your heart and if you like to research it is actually more energizing than caffeine.  

Explanation:

From what i learned in nursing school is that you take your weight in pounds and divide by 2.  That is how many ounces you need to drink on a normal day for cellular processes.  If you are working out you need extra to replenish your body.  say im 150 lbs, divide by 2 and i should be drinking 75 ounces a day if im not exercising.
