1. Ancient climate

2. He could not provide a mechanism for the movement of the continents.

Further Explanation:

PART 1:

The ancient climate did not have any effect on the continental drift hypothesis. Continental Drift is known to be a theory in which the Continents of the Earth have moved over a geologic time that is relative to each other and that is the reason why they appear to have “Drifted” across the ocean bed. Evidence related to the movement of the continents on the tectonic plates is now more extensive and it is as similar as the plant and animal fossils that are found around the shores of the different countries which suggest that they were once joined by these continents.

For instance, The fossil of Mesosaurus which is a small reptile just like a small crocodile is found in both South Africa and Brazil and there have also been much-living evidence where the same living animals are being found on the two continents and the most relatable example to it will be earthworms which are found in South America and Africa.

PART 2:

The Theory of continental drift of Wegener was not accepted for many years as according to many other scientists, the driving force of the theory was missing and the second issue which scientists found with his theory was that the Wegener’s estimate of the speed of continental motion was very high. One thing which also went against Wegner was that he was not a geologist and the other geologists believed that the evidence Wegener presented was not sufficient.

Correct answer choice for question 1 is :

B) Paleomagnetism.

Explanation:

Paleomagnetism is the subject of the history of the Earth's magnetic field in rocks, sand, or archeological elements. Some metals in rocks lock-in a record of the path and strength of the magnetic field when they form. Alfred Wegener was the scientist who introduced the Continental Drift Theory in the initial twentieth century. Just put, his hypothesis suggested that the regions had once been linked, and over time had flowed apart.

Correct answer choice for question 2 is :

B) He could not provide a mechanism for the movement of the continents

Explanation:

Wegener proposed that maybe the revolution of the Earth began the continents to move towards and apart from each other. Today, we know that the regions rest on large pieces of rock named tectonic plates. The plates are constantly moving and mixing in a method called plate tectonics. Continental Drift has changed the development of animals, the worlds geographic regions and the world's environments. There are also many terrible consequences of continental drifts, like Earthquakes and Tsunamis.

Laziness is the proper synonym because when you lie down you aren't necessarily sleeping or tired, but it does mean that you are lazy because you need to be working for those times. Meaning you should be prepared to have energy for your work hours.
