Answer:

x=6 or x=-4

Step-by-step explanation:

This question is under the topic factorisation... which means we will have to factorise the given equation before getting the answer

x^2+2x=24

To be able to factorise,we will have to substrate 24 from both sides

X^2+2x-24=0

Factorisation is when you get two numbers that when you add up it will give you one of the number given in the question as well as when you multiply it will also give you another number in the question

The general formula for factorisation

X^2-(sum of the two numbers)x+(product of two numbers)

Considering the question, we have -24, what will we multiply to get -24 and when add together it can give us +2

Let's consider+6&+4

If we should multiply them we will get +24 instead of-24 and if we should add up it will give 10 instead of 2...so it is not possible to use them

Let's consider +6 and-4

If we multiply them we will get -24

And if we add we will get +2

Therefore we are taking -6 and+4

X2-6x+4x-24=0

x(x-6)+4(x-6)=0

(x-6)(x+4)=0

x=6 or x=-4

Find the circumference of the circle. Use 3.14 for pi and round to at least one decimal place.

The answer is 37.7. Doubling the radius gives us the diameter, so 6x2= 12. Then, multiply that by 3.14.

Answer:

\text{C. f(x)} = 3(1.5)^{x-1}

Step-by-step explanation:

The numbers don’t increase by a constant amount, so this is not an arithmetic sequence.

It appears to be a geometric sequence.

The general formula for each term in a geometric sequence is

aₙ = a₁rⁿ⁻¹

===============

Calculate the value of r

You can calculate the r-value by dividing any two consecutive terms in the sequence.

    rₙ = aₙ/aₙ₋₁

a₂/a₁ = 4.5/3 = 1.5

a₃/a₂ = 6.75/4.5 = 1.5

a₄/a₃ = 10.125/6.75 = 1.5

a₅/a₄ = 15.1875/10.125 = 1.5

      r = 1.5

===============

Determine the formula for the nth term

a₁ = 3; r = 1.5     Substitute the values

aₙ = 3(1.5)ⁿ⁻¹ Write the equation as a function of x

\text{f(x)} = 3(1.5)^{x-1}

Answer:

1/20=10 years old

In a school 50% of the students are younger than 10, 1/20 are 10 years old and 1/10 are older than 10 but younger than 12, the remaining 70 students are 12 years or older. How many students are 10 years old?

50%= younger than 10

1/20=10 years old

1/10=older than 10 younger than 12

70=12 years or older

50%- 10/20

1/20-1/20

1/10-2/20

10/20+1/20+2/20=13/20

70 students =7/20

1/20 = 10 years old.

7/20 divided by 7 = 1/20

70 divided by 7=10

10 students are 10 years old

Three students have started a fence-painting business. Working together, Pragnesh and Qazi can paint the fence in 12 hours. Simi
Mila [183]

Step-by-step explanation:

P and Q can do the whole work in 12 hours.

so, in 1 hour they can do 1/12.

P and R can do in 1 hour 1/15.

Q and R can do in 1 hour 1/20.

mathematically that looks like

P + Q = 1/12

P + R = 1/15

Q + R = 1/20

P + Q + R = 1/x

together they can do 1/x of the work in 1 hour.

it will take them x hours, if all 3 worked together.

from the first equation we get

P = 1/12 - Q

that gives us in the second equation

1/12 - Q + R = 1/15

R = 1/15 - 1/12 + Q = 4/60 - 5/60 + Q = Q - 1/60

but from the 3rd equation we get also

R = 1/20 - Q

so,

Q - 1/60 = 1/20 - Q

2Q = 1/20 + 1/60 = 3/60 + 1/60 = 4/60

Q = 2/60 = 1/30

R = Q - 1/60 = 2/60 - 1/60 = 1/60

P = 1/12 - Q = 1/12 - 2/60 = 5/60 - 2/60 = 3/60 = 1/20

so, we get for the sum :

P + Q + R = 3/60 + 2/60 + 1/60 = 6/60 = 1/10

that means in 1 hour they can do together 1/10 of the work.

so, together they will need 10 hours to paint the fence.
