Distribute the 2.5 then solve what's in the parentheses and solve the rest of the right side then distribute 4.5, solve then divide the number with the x on both sides.

4.5 ( -4) = -18 & -2.5(3+28)=-77.5

= -18 + 36 = 202 - 77.5

Solve!

18 = 122.5

18÷18=0

122.5÷18=6.08

Answer: 6.08

Six less than four times a number is 26. What is the number?
statuscvo [17]
Okay, lets see here. So since we know that 26 is six less than the actual answer, we'll add 6 to 26 which gives us 32. Then we'll do 32 divided by 4, which is 8.

Using the diagram as marked, find the length
Anon25 [30]

just a quick note, that triangle is misleading some, since the HG side of 6 units, shows longer than GE which is 8, and of course 8 > 6.

Since GE is a perpendicular bisector, that means the angle at G is 90°.

The nth term of the sequence is 2n - 8

Equation of a function

The nth term of an arithmetic progression is expressed as;

Tn = a + (n - 1)d

where

a is the first term

d is the common difference

n is the number of terms

Given the following parameters

a = f(1)=−6

f(2) = −4

Determine the common difference

d = f(2) - f(1)

d = -4 - (-6)
d = -4 + 6

d = 2

Determine the nth term of the sequence

Tn = -6 + (n -1)(2)

Tn = -6+2n-2
Tn = 2n - 8

Hence the nth term of the sequence is 2n - 8
