The eastern Congo is a very troublesome area in Africa. There are numerous different tribes, government forces, military, paramilitaries, corporations that are all fighting to control this area. The main reason for the conflict are the resources.
Eastern Congo is an area very rich in numerous resources. This makes it an area that has very big potential, and if properly used it can bring in lot of wealth to whoever controls it. As there are numerous ''players'' that want to control eastern Congo and they can not come up with mutual agreement about the usage of the resources, they engaged into conflict. Some forces are official by the government, some are sponsored by large corporations, some from other countries (like Uganda), and some are from the locals that are not willing to give up their land and resources. All this has been making this area very risky to go into and also not being able to develop and fulfill its potential.
