<span>As far as I know, in this story basic conflict reveals by neglectful attitude of white people living in Phippsburg towards black people from Malaga Island. To be more exact, loyal community wanted to turn the hometown of black people into resort and just supplant them against their will. And, of course, Turner from Phippsburg , the main character, poses as a mediator that puts up with Malaga people really well and wants to get justice by confronting his family's principles.</span>

This beautiful story is about the meeting of two kids who enjoy and appreciate each other regardless of the problems they face with racism and prejudice. This story has many themes which include the following: Family, Friendship, Racism, Prejudice and Self Esteem.


The conflict in this story begins when the racist town of elders find out about Turner’s friendship with Lizzie, who was an African American, and Turner is forbidden to see her again.


Then the plan of the elders to destroy the African American community on Malaga Island with the goal of building elegant hotels for tourists.
