Answer:

Thomas Hobbes believed that people needed a strong central authority and a social contract in order to avoid our natural state of being fearful and insecure and at war and conflict.

Explanation:

Thomas Hobbes lived from 1588 to 1679 and he is considered one of the most influential philosophers of the modern political system. He is known for what is called social contract theory that emphasized our social need for strong rule. Hobbes discussed the idea that the state or society cannot be secure unless controlled by an absolute sovereign. Hobbes was concerned with the problem of social and political order because at his time in history there was the English Civil War and there was a great climate of fear and conflict. He believed it was necessary to obey a sovereign who can order and impose rules on society because otherwise, we will fall into a pattern that reflects our nature of being uncivil and conflictive.  We have to sacrifice some of our freedom to the King or sovereign in exchange for keeping the peace.

worty [1.4K]

Texas changed from a one party Democratic state to a one party Republican state with the 1980 presidential election of Ronald Reagan.

The Republican party developed dramatically in Texas during the Reconstruction Era, post constitutional amendments freeing the slaves giving suffrage to black males. After the Reconstruction Era, the Republican party of Texas gradually lost power and the Democrats passed disfranchising laws near the turn of the century requiring poll taxes be paid prior to voter registration, with parties establishing white primaries , black voting dropped.

As a result, the biggest base of electoral support for the Republican party in Texas was German Texan community. The first Republican statewide primary was held in 1926, but drew only 15, 239 voters as by the disfranchisement was well established and Texas was essentially a one- party state.

Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

Some Southeast Asian countries commanded important waterways and controlled costly trade routes in this way Southeast Asia’s geography contributed to the region’s economic development.

Explanation:

Usually, all of Southeast Asia lies between the tropics. Thus there are similarities in the atmosphere just as plant and creature life all through the area. Temperatures are commonly warm, although it is more relaxed in suitable country territories.

There are a few contrasts in the physical condition of territory and island in Southeast Asia. The primary component of territory topography is the long waterways that start in the right countries isolating Southeast Asia from China and northwest India.
