From my personal experience nail polish helps my nails not break as much, because it adds another layer of protection. Hope this helps!!!

according to my two older sisters nail polishes usually consist of a base coat that protects against chipping easily, although they arent sure wheather wearing nail polish or not prevents your nails from breaking..... But they said you should be good to wear it..... hopefully they helped your decision in some way haha
