Well, the Triple Alliance was made of very divergent countries with opposing, conflicting interests: Italy, Romania (which joined in secret), Germany and Austria-Hungary.

Italy wanted to colonize Tunisia and other parts of North Africa and create a colonial Empire. It also wanted Austria to give back the northern regions of Trentino and Istria which were Italian-populated. Being unable to colonize Tunisia, Italy seized Libya from The Ottoman Empire; this enraged the Austrians and the Germans, who had alliances with the Ottoman Empire. Italy left the treaty in 1915 and joined the Allied Powers.

Romania had issue with Austria Hungary, since Transylvania and other historically Romanian areas had been seized by Hungary and its ethnic Romanian inhabitants were being forcefully magyarized. Romania left the treaty in 1916 and also joined the Allied Powers.

The Triple Entente on the other hand, did not have such colonial or territorial conflicts. The British Empire had solved its colonial differences with France back in 1904 (mainly in Africa). The Russian Empire solved its colonial rivalry with the British Empire in Asia in 1907 (end of the Great Game). This allowed them to enter WWI with a more solid alliance. However, they did have political differences: France and Britain did not really feel close to the Autocratic Russian Empire but that subject tis not part of the question.

Explain the structure of the government in ancient Athens. How did this system compare with the one used in the ancient city-sta
mariarad [96]

Answer:

1A   One way that Athens and Sparta really differed was in their idea of getting along with the rest of the Greeks. Sparta seemed content to keep to itself and provide army and assistance when necessary. Athens, on the other hand, wanted to control more and more of the land around them. This eventually led to war between all the Greeks.

Explanation:

1B    Sparta was ruled by two kings, who ruled until they died or were forced out of office. Athens was ruled by archons, who were elected annually. Thus, because both parts of Athens' government had leaders who were elected, Athens is said to haveThe two rivals of ancient Greece that made the most noise and gave us the most traditions were Athens and Sparta. They were close together on a map, yet far apart in what they valued and how they lived their lives.

2  Athenian life was a creative wonderland. As an Athenian, you could get a good education and could pursue any of several kinds of arts or sciences. You could serve in the army or navy, but you didn't have to. (This applied only to boys, however: Girls were restricted to other pursuits, not war or business or education.

Each phrase from this section of the declaration of independence begins with the word 'for', which is referring to the actions o
dexar [7]

Answer:  b. King George III

Details:

Jefferson provided a list of "facts to be submitted to a candid world" to demonstrate that the British king, George III, had been seeking to establish "an absolute Tyranny over these States" (the colonial states which were declaring their independence).

Jefferson's list included items such as:

  • The king refused to assent to laws that were wholesome and necessary for the public good.
  • The king had forbidden colonial governors to enact laws or implement laws without his assent (which, as the prior point noted, he was in no hurry to give).
  • The king forced people to give up their rights to legislative assembly or forced legislative bodies to meet in difficult places that imposed hardships on them.
  • The king dissolved legislative assemblies and then refused for a long time to have other assemblies elected.
  • The king obstructed justice in the colonies and made judges dependent on his will alone for their salaries and their tenure in office.
  • The king kept standing armies in place in the colonies in peacetime, without the consent of the colonial legislatures.
  • The king imposed taxes without the colonists' consent.

These and additional items listed in the Declaration were meant to support the colonies' position that tyranny was standard operating procedure by the British monarchy, and therefore revolution was justified.
