In the praise of slacking what Structural elements are missing from the text write one possible counter argument opposing the au
IrinaVladis [17]

The statement "doing less is an ideal that we should embrace" may have been adopted by some people who have been successful in their choices. However, these people are rare cases, it is not easy and recurring to be successful and reach your goals in establishing a path of dedication and effort. Doing less does not guarantee that we will succeed, we must always seek, learn and fight for what we want.

We can use as an example the success story of Bill Gates, where this statement does not fit. We can find several testimonials about how Gates and his team worked (sometimes exhaustively) to establish the success of his company.

//

The counter argument is convincing in that it brings a concrete example of someone who worked to get what he has, as well as presenting arguments that can be identifiable with the present day.

Why should we think before we act (explain)?
Pie
By thinking before we act, we can make better decisions.
Some people say whatever is in their mind without thinking about whether or not they are hurting someone else's feelings. This can lead to tense, ruined relationships.
Hope this helps!

1. How does the idea of Tan’s reconciliation with her mother’s informal English develop over the course of chunk 1?
Anvisha [2.4K]

From the short story "Mother Tongue"written by Amy Tan: Growing up, Amy struggled with the feeling of being in two language zones; on the one hand she used the simple English with her mother, who spoke English in an unclear  way , according to others, and on the other hand she used the English she learned at school which was more sophisticated. There were times when she felt embarrassed by her mother's use of English, especially when her friends could not understand what she was saying. But her mother knew English very well because she could read sophisticated books in English. It was only her delivery of the language that was lacking. Later in life, Amy came to accept the positive aspects that she learned from growing up in an immigrant family, from her mother, and be grateful for the teachings of her two worlds.
