Answer- The second consequence was that the events of World War II led directly to the Cold War developing over the next five years. During World War II the leaders of Liberal Democracy, the US, joined forces with the Communist Soviet Union, to break down the Fascist Regime. Truman's decision to use the atomic bomb against Japan changed the future of international relations in a number of ways. The atomic bomb led to Japan's immediate surrender to the United States and made the United States the primary occupier of the island. Impact of the atomic bomb. After six years of war the first atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. More than 100,000 people were killed, and others subsequently died of radiation-induced cancers. The bombing brought the Second World War to an end.
