Write The line through (0,-2) and (4,6) in point form
Anna35 [415]
(0,-2)(4,6)
first we find the slope by using the slope formula : slope(m) = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

slope(m) = (6 - (-2) / (4 - 0) = (6 + 2)/4 = 8/4 = 2

point slope form : y - y1 = m(x - x1)... 2 answers are possible

y - y1 = m(x - x1)
slope(m) = 2
using points (0,-2)....x1 = 0 and y1 = -2
y - (-2) = 2(x - 0)
y + 2 = 2(x - 0) <=== here is one answer

y - y1 = m(x - x1)
slope(m) = 2
using points (4,6)...x1 = 4 and y1 = 6
y - 6 = 2(x - 4) <== here is the other answer

A straight has slope equals to 12 and y-intercept equals to -5. What's the equation for this straight line?
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

\large{ \tt{❃ \: EXPLANATION}} :

  • We're provided : Slope of straight line ( m ) = 12 & y - intercept ( c ) = - 5 and We're asked to find out the equation for this straight line.

  • You'll have to know : Equation of straight line in slope intercept form : y = mx + c where m is the slope & c is the y-intercept.

\large{ \tt{❁ \: LET'S \: START}} :

  • Using Slope - intercept form of equation of straight line :

\boxed{ \large{ \tt{❈ \: y = mx + c}}}

- Plug the values :

\large{ \tt{↬y = 12x + ( - 5)}}

\large{ \tt{↬ \: y = 12x -  5}}

↬\large{\tt{12x - 5 = y}}

↬ \large{ \boxed{ \bold{ \tt{12x - y - 5 = 0}}}}

  • Hence , 12x - y - 5 = 0 is the required equation.

if ZA and ZB are supplementary angles. if mZA = (3x-23) and mZB= (2x-12) then find the measure of ZB
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

mZB= 74

Step-by-step explanation:

ZB+ZA=180

3X-23+2X-12=180

5X-35=180

5X=180+35

5X=215  (then divide both sides by 5 to x be left alone.)

X=43....so ZB=2(43)-12

                     =86-12=74
