Jalisco a Mexican state located in it's western coast. It's capital city is Guadalajara and the state is most known for mariachis, which some people thought originated here.
However as most places in Latin American, there is strong folkloric tradition that derives from Spanish culture brought by colonists mixing with indigenous culture in the area. The music, dancing, clothing and holidays mixed and gave result to a colorful and cheerful folkloric tradition, including dances like La Culebra, La Negra, and El Jarabe
