What orders did union general William Tecumseh Sherman give his troops on their march to the sea
marin [14]
The orders were to take everything that they can, and burn and ruin everything that they can't take. The idea was to destroy infrastructure completely so as to weaken the southern population and the southern support for the war. They would burn farms and pillage everything leaving nothing standing.

Based on everything that has occurred in the last month around the world. Do we still need a government? Answer in ONE paragraph
zubka84 [21]
Yes, every country still needs a government. People are like sheep walking around with out a leader or authority. If the government were to disappear, the worlds citizens would go into a Chaotic downfall. Crime rates would sky rocket up. And the economy would fail. Too many people around the world rely on their governments for assistance like unemployment checks and protection from foreign threat.

What is one result of the Roman republic’s conquest of the Mediterranean coastline?
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

Expand its territories and facilitate trade.

Explanation:

Rome defeated Carthage in the Punic Wars (Carthage) and gained dominance of the western Mediterranean. After getting control over the Mediterranean sea, Romans began to call it as Mare Nostrum (Our Sea).

The Mediterranean Sea was vital to the Roman Empire because it connected to trade with the Middle East and North Africa. By the conquer of the Mediterranean coastline Romans began to establish their territories in Mediterranean islands and onto the east coast (Spain). Rome indicated these new territories as provinces and elected governors to manage them.
