The Tang dynasty further expanded road and canal networks which promoted foreign trade and improved agriculture.

The army of the<em> Jin </em>dynasty captured the imperial family and captured Kaiteng the capital to the North Song dynasty. This led to the end of the Northern Song dynasty.
