The 'black land' was the land on the banks of the Nile where the Ancient Egyptians used the land for growing their crops. It was the only land in Ancient Egypt that could be used for farming because a layer of rich, black silt was deposited there every year after the Nile flooded.
The 'red land' was the barren desert land that protected Egypt on two sides. The desert lands kept Ancient Egypt from neighbouring countries and invading armies. The desert also gave the Ancient Egyptians a source of precious metals and semi-precious stones.
I hope this answered your question and I apologise if I am wrong. Good luck on your assignment :)

The "red land" was the warm and hot area in the desert. The "black land" was the fertile areas that were along the Nile River. These usually occurred near the banks of the river.

1. Describe one advantage of having a civilian who is an elected public official as the commander-in-chief. (2)
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

The question above only has question 1, the question (2) is empty so an answer would be provided for question 1. The answer to the question above is given below:

Explanation:

"Civilian" in the question is someone who is not trained to serve a nation in the armed forces such as the military, police force unit Though, in some countries, civilians work in those units to perform other tasks like overseeing the military duties or ensure payment of salaries but they don't wear uniforms.

An elected public official as the commander-in-chief is a civilian elected by the citizens of a particular country by voting or other systems to take charge as the chief controller of the country's armed forces.

one advantage of having a civilian who is an elected public official as the commander-in-chief is:

1. Some countries in the world frown against military governments from other countries and they prefer a civilian as the commander-in-chief because the civilian commander-in-chief shows the choice of the people and this gives the civilian commander-in-chief the authority to make executive agreements with other countries. It allows some decision-making to pass through the country's senate thereby eliminating some lone decision-making power that may be found when a military official is a commander-in-chief.
