The movement of the rib cage changes air pressure in the chest cavity because when the rib cage raises, a decrease in air pressure in the chest cavity causes air to rush out into the lungs.

Answer:

The correct answer would be the third option.

The intercostal muscles present between ribs contract to pull them outward and upward.

In addition, the diaphragm also contracts and gets thin.

Both these movements increase the cavity size due to which pressure inside the lungs decreases as compared to the atmospheric pressure.

Consequently, the air is pulled inside the lungs as it travels from high pressure to low pressure.

Please help as soon as possible! : )
dolphi86 [110]
Hey there!

Here is a paraphrased version of the text:

Objects that are nonliving never had the qualities of life, and never will. Things that are dead did have an experience to have the qualities of life, but then they eventually die, they fail to keep some of the characteristics. So in science, dead is not an identical word to nonliving. A rock is nonliving, a fallen tree is dead, and a moose is living.

Note: While paraphrasing a text, a good thing to do is to think of as many synonyms of the words in the text as you can.

Hope this helps you.
Have a great day!

How is the scientific method used in earth science (it was due yesterday)
Bingel [31]

Answer: The steps used in scientific methods are to ask a question, form a hypothesis, test the hypothesis, analyze the results, draw conclusions, and communicate results. A controlled experiment tests only one factor at a time so that scientists can determine the effects of changes to just that one factor.
