Answer:

The correct answer is D. Decreasing immigration from Northern and Western Europe made the US population more diverse by 1910.

Explanation:

American population grew in the 19th century to the 1920s as a result of heavy migration, and throughout that time the country was the world's largest recipient of migrants. In 1800 the population was only five million, but in 1920 it was already 106 million. Comers from the 1820s to the 1880s were mainly West Europeans such as English, Irish, German and Scandinavian. At the end of the century many Italian and Eastern European migrants, such as Jews, began to enter the country. Immigrants were attracted to the United States, in particular by good access to agricultural land, job opportunities and political and religious freedom. In addition to Southern Europe, the United States, particularly California, also received some migrants from Japan and China.

How do we remain true to ourselves as we move in and out of different communities, cultures and contexts?
Shalnov [3]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The way in which we remain true to ourselves as we move in and out of different communities, cultures, and contexts is by really believing in our foundations and moral pillars that were taught by our parents since we were children. We need to be convinced that the teachings we receive and the culture we had since childhood is proper for our lives.

Of course, we have to maintain an open mind to acknowledge that other people and other communities have their own valid culture; the by-product of their own history and customs.

And that is the beauty of diversity. To have many different things to learn from and to choose from. If we like it and find it useful, we choose it. If not, we discard it. But always, with absolute respect.
