Macbeth said that an evil act can set loose to the storms. He realized that one murder can let to another. He sees himself as drenched in blood which he thinks he can never get rid off or go back from. He resorts to defeat that the only way for him to live his life is in evil.
In Act 4, scene 1, Macbeth talks to the witches. He states that he knows the witches can set loose these storms. He also describes the damage that the storms cause. The witches are among the most important characters in the play Macbeth. They are the ones who reveal the prophecy to Macbeth, and ultimately lead him towards a negative and dangerous destiny.
