Answer:

Answer is Option B: Children are separated from parental figures, and sibling relationships are not encouraged.

Explanation:

In "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass", Frederick Douglass wrote this to "prove" his identity, and to let a greater number of people know about his powerful criticism of slavery.

The narrator was a slave and he explains to the people how slaves were treated. Life under Colonel Lloyd was brutal where family relations were not given any importance. They were separated from their parents and were not allowed to interact with anyone. They did like this so that slaves are not distracted by anyone. It would cause hindrance to their work. They made sure that siblings were not kept together.

Review the conflict from "The Glass of Milk." The boy turns down food offered to him by a sailor on the docks. How does this act
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

A) It escalates the conflict by showing that, despite being very hungry, the boy's pride prevents him from accepting help.

Explanation:

A Glass of Milk is a story by an unknown author, which recounts the experience of a boy who is poor and hungry, yet he is ashamed of his situation and does not want to receive charity from others who offers him food. The sailor situation quote in the question refers to the beginning of the story, where the sailor offers the boy food, yet he declines it, saying he is not hungry despite the fact that he is. This exchange introduces the central conflict of the story.
