The fight was fought mostly in and around the city of Springfield, happening during the years of both 1786 and 1787. The rebellion exposed the weaknesses/vulnerable areas of the Articles of Confederation. When the central government started getting weaker and couldn't put down/stop the rebellion, the first stirrings of federalism began to gather strength/power. The British was not familiar with current events and the Declaration, so they continued to send groups of troops to contain and reinforce the already powerful rebellion.
