Answer:

y=mx+b

(6,6)    (3,8)

6m+b=6

3m+b=8

6m+b-3m-b=-2

3m=-2

m = -2/3

-2+b=8

b=10

y = -2/3x+10

I choose 12.

-2/3(12)+10

=2

so put x as 12; y as 2.

Answer:

We want to add an x value we have not used before. A function has EVERY X IN A DOMAIN going to ONLY ONE Y value.

6,3,9,7 are already used for x.

so you can put in x = 8 and y = 12 as an answer. That will work and show a function. There are also other answers.

Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

3 (x + 5.50) = 111.75; the monthly Internet service is $31.75

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x = monthly cost of internet service

Each month they received $5.50 as a credit on the bill.

The Schwartz family spent a total of $111.75 for Internet service for 3 months.

Total cost of internet service for three months = 3(x + 5.550)

111.75 = 3(x + 5.50)

111.75 = 3x + 16.50

111.75 - 16.50 = 3x

95.25 = 3x

x = 95.25 / 3

= 31.75

x = $31.75

To find the length of the base, you must first find the length of the sides, or the value of x. Because it is an isosceles triangle, the legs are equal to each other.

2x + 4=x + 8
x=4

Now that you have found x, plug it into the equation for the base.

5(4) - 2
20 - 2
18
Final Answer: 18

Hope this helps!! :)
