Limited Government- a government bound to specific principles and actions by a state or federal constitution.
Federalism- a system of government where there is one strong, central controlling authority.
Seperation of Power- refers to the division of government responsibilities into distinct branches to limit any one branch from exercising the core functions of another.
Checks and Balances- principle of government under which separate branches are empowered to prevent actions by other branches and are induced to share power.
Individual Rights- refer to the liberties of each individual to pursue life and goals without interference from other individuals or the government. Examples of individual rights include the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as stated in the United States Declaration of Independence.
