The ecosystem is the biology community and its interaction with its physical environment in a particular area.

The scientist who want to study the ecosystem, they must study all the organism living there and the physical environment they are living in. They must study the characteristics of the organism with respect to characteristics of the environmental factors, the organism interact with. So, in order to understand an ecosystem completely, the scientist must study the abiotic factors with the organism  living there. studying organism alone would provide the characteristics of the community, not the ecosystem.

Harman [31]

The correct answer is the homeostasis.

A plant may close and open its stomata to prevent excess water loss and maintain homeostasis.

Homeostasis is termed as the tendency of organisms to maintain and automatic regulation of their internal environment to be in a stable condition.

We say that the plant is in stable condition when the fluid balance and body temperature are being kept in to a pre-set limits which include calcium ions, potassium, sodium and PH of extracellular fluid.

The natural resistance which changes the optimal condition brings about homeostasis.

likoan [24]
The limitation is that she can't test is on humans for ethical reasons. In order to test this, theoretically, she would need to ask some women to use this cosmetic and compare their fetuses to the fetuses of women who didn't. But this is not likely to be approved by the ethical committee, as causing damage to a fetus is not ethical.
