Answer: [SAMPLE ANSWER] Sheep played an important role in the Texas economy especially after the Civil War, when demand for wool was high. Sheep ranchers would often compete with cattle ranchers over grazing land and disputes would sometimes occur. Horses also played an important role in the cattle industry as they were used to herd and drive cattle before the railroad went through Texas. Mustangers, who caught and tamed horses, contributed to the success of the cattle industry.

Other important livestock products include broilers (young chickens) and dairy products, followed by chicken eggs and hogs. Sheep and lambs and turkeys are also commercially raised in Texas. Texas raises more sheep and produces more mohair from angora goats than any other states

Senator Stephen Douglas hoped to apply the principle of popular sovereignty to the Kansas-Nebraska Act. Identify what ""popular
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

Popular sovereignty was seen on the issue of slavery as a political middle ground. Popular sovereignty is the principle that people should rule,  and as such the status of slavery  should be determined by the votes of local settlers and not congress.

During the Mexican War, when slavery became a political problem, Douglas faced a challenge. Fearing that the issue would interfere with the Constitution, he argued for the doctrine of popular sovereignty — the right of the people of a state or territory to determine for themselves the question of slavery — as a solution for the sake of the Union. He led the congressional struggle for the 18th compromise.

How did the 26th amendment address concerns about age discrimination
lidiya [134]
The 26th amendment addressed concerns about age discrimination by saying that citizens who are eighteen years of age or greater shall not be refused or compressed by the government authorities whether federal or state on the statement of age. It restricts states from segregating among voters based on age, for people who are at least 18 years old.
