My brother Patrick sat on his bed and waited patiently for me to begin. As I held the speech in my right hand, I felt the page c

rinkle between my fingertips. I read my speech loudly, but my brother shook his head disapprovingly. He told me I didn’t sound confident enough. With a heavy heart, I knew I was in for a long day of practicing.

"Okay, start whenever you're ready, Em."
"Good morning fellow students. As your class president, i would like to...um...bring up a very...uh...pressing matter. There has been an...um-"
"Stop right there."
"Why? Did I do something wrong?"
"Well, not necessarily, but you're lacking something."
"I thought it was a good intro, but maybe I shouldn't get to the point so quickly-"
"No, no, the actual speech is great, but you seem to be really nervous."
"Patrick, I have to recite this from memory to my entire class! Of course I'm nervous!"
"It's perfectly okay to be nervous but its something else... Wait! I got it! Its your confidence. You are the class president, take charge! Its a great speech, but deliverance is what makes it an amazing speech."

Polonius sends Reynaldo to Paris to encourage Laertes to return home.
slega [8]
If this is a true or false question, then this is definitely false.
Although Polonius does send Reynaldo to Paris, he doesn't send him to encourage Laertes to return home. He sends him in order to spy on his son, to see if he's doing okay, and if he's not drinking and squandering his money on his vices.

Wittaler [7]

This question is missing the options. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

Dr. Dowell says that we need to be prepared for a pandemic. He thinks every nation should have an emergency  plan. More medications like Tamiflu should be available. He thinks rich countries like the U.S. should help poor  countries pay for medicine and health care.

Why does the author most likely include this information at the end of the text instead of at the beginning?

A. because it draws a conclusion based on the evidence presented throughout the text

B. because it offers new evidence that is meant to help readers better understand the text

C. because it poses new questions for readers to think about now that they have read the text

D. because it offers supplemental information that readers can compare to evidence presented in the text

Answer:

The author includes this information at the end of the text:

A. because it draws a conclusion based on the evidence presented throughout the text .

Explanation:

After discussing and presenting evidence throughout the text, author John DiConsiglio is now ready to conclude it. What he presents at the end cannot be new evidence or supplemental information, for that would not be a conclusion at all. He is also not presenting questions - he is making statements. Those statements are based on the information presented previously, supported by it. What the author wants now is to show how important that information was and how we can use it to be prepared for future cases of the disease.

Read Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken." What are two key themes of this poem?
DanielleElmas [232]

You can eliminate C right away, which leaves you with A, B, and D. Personally, I would choose B and D. When choosing paths in life, its often important to make tough decisions. And these choices sometimes are dependent on your future, making the answer B and D.
