Point of view for this passage Diego looked over the edge. He thought about how far the ground was. The wind gusted Whitney turn

ed to him and said, "Its beautiful up here, huh?" Diego could not think about beauty. All he could think about was not falling off the edge. He said, "Yeah, Whitney, it really is beautiful. Hey, how long do you want to stay up here?" Whitney laughed and said, "Let's stay up here the of our lives!" Diego grimaced. He was afraid that this scenario was all too likely.

What themes are displayed in the story a chip of glass ruby
Digiron [165]

The themes that are displayed in the story a chip of glass ruby that are, sacrifice, discrimination, selfishness, justice, and apartheid.

Because Nadine Gordimer's novel A Chip of Glass Ruby explores themes of sacrifice, discrimination, selfishness, justice, devotion, and apartheid. After reading the tale, the reader realises that Gordimer may be examining the issue of sacrifice. The narrative is set in South Africa and is told in the third person by an unknown narrator.

Throughout the narrative, Mrs. Bamjee shows empathy and a willingness to take chances in order to help others. Her purchase of the duplicating machine highlights something. She can convey a message of dissent to others using the device. A demonstration that involves calling attention to the evils of apartheid, which was practised in South Africa from the 1950s until it was abolished in 1991.

Despite the fact that she is not personally impacted by the anti-apartheid movement, Mrs. Bamjee is committed to it. She is not subject to the same punitive measures as South African black people were because of her heritage. This might be significant because it shows that, despite not necessarily being Mrs. Bamjee's cause, she is willing to give up everything she has, including her freedom, to aid others.

This is in contrast to her husband Bamjee, who displays a greedy and heartless nature throughout the narrative when discussing theme of apartheid.
