In the Northern Hemisphere, why are summers warmer than winters, even though the earth is actually closer to the sun in January?

Answer and Explanation

In the winter, because of the 23.5° tilt of the earth's axis, the sun's beams hit the earth's surface at an angle and subsequently cover a larger surface area making the heat less intense.

In the winter, the Earth is closer to the Sun. So the sun's rays spreads out to cover more area, making the heat per unit area, much reduced. In summer the Earth is further away from the sun, and focuses on less area, causing a much more intense heat flux (heat per unit area).

How do the physical features of North America affect where people live?
Serggg [28]
A physical feature is the mountains, deserts, and lakes. It affects where people live because of the climate, food, and water available. For example, if you live in the mountains, than you must have more snow than someone who lives in the desert. People may not want to live there because of the cold, that is why many people do not live in the mountains.

Hope this helps! :)

What is the difference between the production and the dostribution of an item
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

Production is the manufacturing of the item. Distribution is the transportation, promotion, or delivering of the item.

Examples:

Phones are produced in a factory. They are useless though unless they are distributed to the stores so that they can be sold to consumers.

The same can apply to commercial crops. Crops are all produced commercially and then distributed to thousands of grocery stores so that they can be sold.
