Usually consists of 3 parts: Lament, praise and consolation for the living. The Lament and Praise is for the one who has passed away.
Ode
For certain, an ode is meant to be sung, particularly those written by Greek (and to a lesser extent Roman) poets. It is usually of short to moderate length and is about serious or elevated subjects.
The only stage direction is for every character to leave, letting Hamlet have his monologue. It allows the reader or listener to relate to Hamlet. It also usually shows exposition in the storyline.
