1) Codex, a collection of very old manuscripts either religious or mythological with a historical value like the ones that compose the New Testament. Codex Sinaiticus, Codex Vaticanus, etc.

2) Iconoclasm. A movement of image breaking protesting and opposing to the image worship. Dating back from the VIII century, prior and decisive to the separation or foundation of the Orthodox Catholic Church. On the other hand, the Iconoclast movement kept untouched the icons, huge portraits still worshipped by Orthodox Catholic adherents.

5) Madrassa C) place of study. For the Islamic religion, Madrassa is the place where people go to have their religious education in a Higher degree, something like a Seminary. But every Muslim boy has to attend Madrassa at its basic level.

6) Jamb column. Vertical elements of a doorway or window frame E. Jambs are just like frames of a Door or a Portal. A Jamb Column is a column placed by the door sides, usually with statues of Catholic Saints.

7) Tympanum B) semicircular area enclosed by the arch above an arched entry. In architecture, over a portal a semicircular area engraved. Originally from the Classical Period, its usage has surpassed those classical times. It is possible to find in the Middle Ages' Architecture, and not only in Europe but also in Asia, and many other countries.

8) Perpendicular style A) verticality dominated interior space.  There was a later phase of Gothic Architecture, in which the Perpendicular Style was used to show grandiloquence like in Gothic Churches showing the greatness of God and the smallness of the humans.

9) Cimabue F) artist known for Byzantine influence combined with depth and volume. Cenni di Petro "Cimabué" was a florentine (Italian) painter, whose name was even included by Alighieri's Divine Comedy. He transitioned between the byzantine bidimensional to the Naturalism. On this transition, the light and shade were very much used and praised by Cimabue.
