Han dynasty:  

1.Math and astronomy continued to be important areas of study. Despite the fall of the great Hat Empire, major technological advances were made during this period, for example: invention of gunpowder as a main resource for defending territories of collapsed China.

2. Schools created during the rise of the empire closed. The main ideology and religion of Han Dynasty was Confucianism. This way of governing stated that only well educated and wise nation can reach success, so the emperor created lots of schools to provide his people with education.

Gupta empire:

3. Plows were invented to improve farming.

When the Gupta Empire began to fall all the peasants lost land and farms due to overpriced takes. Obviously, then the bureaucracy established its positions and the taxation for peasants was extremely high so the plows was a chance for them to strive.

4. Hinduism remained a major religion.
Even though the mighty empire had fallen, people still followed the main principles of their religion, and the revival of Hinduism with new gods and goddesses took place right after the decline.  Renewing spiritual traditions gave people new hope for building a new great empire.

5. The written language remained the same. It is the major aspect of Hinduism as it is a philosophical language of this religion, so if the initial religion was preserved, therefore the written language was not changed at that time.
