Slope of 2 means that the the x part is 2x

So when x is 0 y must equal 6

so the equation is y = 2x + 6

The basic format for questions like these are y=mx+b where m stands for the slope and the b stands for the y-intercept, and x and y stand for the coordinates of the equation. So if you fill it in, it would be y=2x+6.

Write a linear equation that passes through the point (-3,3) and (9,-13)
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

y=-4/3x-1

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{ {y}^{2} -  {y}^{1} }{ {x}^{2 -{x}^{1} } }

\frac{ - 13 - 3}{9 -  - 3} =  \frac{ - 16}{12\ }

y=mx+b like this:

y=-4/3x+b

To find b:

y=-4/3x+b.

You can use either (x,y) point you want..the answer will be the same

(-3,3). y=mx+b or 3=-4/3 × -3+b, or solving for b: b=3-(-4/3)(-3). b=-1.

(9,-13). y=mx+b or -13=-4/3 × 9+b, or solving for b: b=-13-(-4/3)(9). b=-1.

2y-3x=ay-2x for y <br> please solve for y
babunello [35]

Answer:

y= \frac{x}{-a + 2}

Step-by-step explanation:

2y - 3x = ay - 2x

(2y - 3x) + (3x - ay) = (ay - 2x) + (3x - 2y)

2y - 3x + 3x - ay = ay - 2x + 3x - ay

2y - ay = ay - ay -2x + 3x

2y - ay = x

y(-a + 2) = x

\frac{y(-a + 2)}{-a + 2}  = \frac{x}{-a + 2}

y= \frac{x}{-a + 2}

Hope this helps! :D
