Read this prompt. Create a presentation to convince school board members that district 16 should add a week-long October break t

o next year’s school calendar, like other districts in the state. Which reason best supports the claim in this prompt? Schoolchildren need time in the fall to prepare for upcoming holidays. The number of school days required by the board is too many for students. Students need a break to study for their rigorous midterm exams. There are too many fast-approaching events on the school calendar.

Answer: Students need a break to study for their rigorous midterm exams.

Explanation:

With the school term begining in the end of August and going on till the midterms save for a few holidays here and there, students do not really have time to rest and reflect.

Adding a weeklong break in October can therefore give students the time to rest and prepare for their very rigorous midterm exams which will theoretically lead to higher pass rates.

the moral arguments and political actions of those opposed to the spread of slavery in the context of the mexican war and kansas
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

There were a few moral and political arguments made by those who opposed the spread of slavery.

Explanation:

With the Mexican war, the ones who opposed slavery were upset about the compromise done (in terms of acquisitions of the Mexican war) as it would create an imbalance between the free and the slave states. They were angry as slavery could start in New Mexico and Southern California as a result of this war.

The Kansas-Nebraska act cancelled the Missouri Compromise and asked the states to decide themselves if they wanted to be a free state or a slave state. Conflicts rose between those supported and those who were against slavery and it led to a period of violence called "Bleeding Kansas". Stephen Douglas wanted to build railroad in the territory of Nebraska. All this led moral and political arguments.
