Generally speaking, the ability of an area to meet the needs of its citizens while maintaining its ability to meet the needs of future generations is called "<span>sustainable development", since these developments will be "sustained" into the future. </span>
The following are the factors that contributed to the
outbreak of violence in the fight for civil rights:

backlash against white racist acts

poor living and working conditionsespecially in
urban areas
5.
difficulty in eradicating de facto segregation
in the North
The temperance movement, discouraging the use of alcoholic beverages, had been active and influential in the United States since at least the 1830s. Since the use of alcohol was often associated with such social ills as poverty and insanity, temperance often went hand in hand with other reform movements. From the 1850s onward, the temperance movement focused much of its efforts on Irish and German immigrants.
