Chambers calls herself a "secret latina" because she is both black and latina, but she looks black so people can't understand that she can also be latina.
Her mother is from Panama, and she wants to celebrate that part of her culture, too, so she learns Spanish, visits Panama, explores the culture there and incorporates it into her life.
However, because she looks black (only) when she is home in New York, she is "secretly" latina because nobody else can understand the duplicity of being both black and latina.

How does Tolstoy describe death in chapters 5-8 of “The Death of Ivan Ilyich”
tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:When Iván Ilych's brother-in-law comes to visit before New Years, he is shocked to see how Iván Ilych has changed. After admitting that he sees a change, the brother-in-law refuses to speak more about it to Iván Ilych. Iván Ilych locks himself in a room to examine his reflection in the mirror, comparing it to a portrait of himself taken with his wife. The change is immense. He then goes out and eavesdrops on his brother-in-law and wife in the drawing room. Though Praskóvya Fëdorovna denies that the change is great, her brother insists: "Why, he's a dead man! Look at his eyes there's no light in them" (143).

sergey [27]

Answer:

Passage A commits a fallacy but does not commit a fallacy of equivocation or amphiboly.

Passage B commits a fallacy and specifically commits a fallacy of equivocation.

Passage C commits a fallacy but does not commit a fallacy of equivocation or amphiboly.

Passage D does not commit a fallacy

Passage E commits a fallacy and specifically commits a fallacy of amphiboly.

Explanation:

A fallacy is an argument that isn't sound because it has a faulty logic. There are many different types of fallacies. The fallacies dealt in our example here: fallacy of equivocation and fallacy of amphiboly both deal with fallacies stemming from ambiguity of words or sentences such that they can mean so many things at the same time. While fallacy of equivocation deals with fallacies resulting from ambiguity caused by use of a word that could mean so many things, fallacy of amphiboly deals with fallacies from ambiguity of phrases and sentences.
