Keep going untill you end up with

243 and 254

since you end up with 2 numbers you need to add them up and divide by 2

243+254=497

then divide by 2

248.5 is you median

you can also list the numbers between 243 . and 254

243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250, 251, 252, 253, 254

then cross out again to end up with

248 and 249

the middle of that is 248.5
