D. balance

A person’s vestibular sense helps control balance. In most mammals, the vestibular system is the sensory system that has the leading contribution to the sense of balance and spatial orientation for the purpose of coordinating movement with balance. The vestibular sense reacts to a change in the positioning of the head or when the feet are lifted of the ground. This can also help in regulating a child to keep him/her focused and attentive. Examples of activities that need vestibular input are: somersaults, swinging, hanging upside down form a monkey bar.

In 100 words, discuss the importance of the oral tradition of reciting poetry and what it meant to ancient societies.
RUDIKE [14]

Oral tradition, or oral lore, is a form of human communication wherein knowledge, art, ideas and cultural material is received, preserved and transmitted orally from one generation to another. The transmission is through speech or song and may include folktales, ballads, chants, prose or verses. In this way, it is possible for a society to transmit oral history, oral literature, oral law and other knowledge across generations without a writing system, or in parallel to a writing system. Indian religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism, for example, have used an oral tradition, in parallel to a writing system, to transmit their canonical scriptures, secular knowledge such as Sushruta Samhita, hymns, and mythologies from one generation to the next.

Oral tradition is information, memories, and knowledge held in common by a group of people, over many generations, and it is not same as testimony or oral history. In a general sense, "oral tradition" refers to the recall and transmission of a specific, preserved textual and cultural knowledge through vocal utterance. As an academic discipline, it refers both to a set of objects of study and a method by which they are studied.

The study of oral tradition is distinct from the academic discipline of oral history, which is the recording of personal memories and histories of those who experienced historical eras or events. Oral tradition is also distinct from the study of orality defined as thought and its verbal expression in societies where the technologies of literacy (especially writing and print) are unfamiliar to most of the population. A folkloreis a type of oral tradition, but knowledge other than folklore has been orally transmitted and thus preserved in human history.

How do human sweat and dogs pant
stealth61 [152]
My answer -

As mentioned above, humans have sweat glands over their entire bodies; the only place dogs (and cats, and many other animals with fur over their whole bodies) can get rid of excess heat is through the tongue. By the way, sweating/panting is NOT a means of getting rid of excess water; it is a way of getting rid of heat. We do this because of the process of evaporation. In changing from liquid to vapor, the water absorbs heat from the surface on which it is laying. Actually, most organisms do not want to get rid of excess water; they need to conserve it, but on very hot days animals "spend" the water to achieve the cooling.

Which sentence uses the active voice? my research paper was finished two days early. my research paper is being finished two day
Minchanka [31]
"I finished my research paper two days early."

A good way to determine active vs passive is to ask who performed the action. Did the subject perform the action, or was the action performed "by" the subject?

The subject performs the action in this sentence:

I = [subject]
finished = [action]
my research paper = [thing on which the action was performed]

In the other examples, the subject has an action performed on it.

My research paper = [subject]
was finished/is being finished = [action]
two days early = [time frame information, not really important for the discussion here]

At this point, you have no indication as to who will finish the paper, do you? No. You assume that the paper will be completed "by me," but it could just as easily be completed "by my friend."

If you can add "by [person/thing]" to a sentence, it's passive voice. If you can't, it's not. Clearly, you would never say "I finished my research paper by me."
